Nonprofit · Global Connectivity Initiative
The Cable Boy connects schools, orphanages, hospitals and nonprofit organizations to the internet — equipment, installation, subscription and maintenance, all provided at no cost to them, forever.
Our belief
We believe there's no better way to help a person or a community than opening the door for them to reach the rest of the world — and everything in it.
Once that door is open
How we work
The Cable Boy runs on a simple loop: we collect what the world has stopped using, and turn it into a lifeline for organizations that have never had one.
We collect unused cables, switches, routers and networking equipment from organizations, businesses and individuals around the world.
We install that equipment on-site, run the cabling throughout the building, and switch on internet connectivity for organizations in need.
Every cable and every piece of hardware is tested and reused wherever it still has life left in it, instead of sitting idle in a drawer or a landfill.
Whatever can't be reused is responsibly recycled — nothing we collect goes to waste, one way or another.
What connection includes
When The Cable Boy connects an organization, we take on the entire job — permanently, not as a one-time gift.
We provide the internet connectivity itself and pay the subscription on an ongoing basis — not a one-time hookup, a standing commitment.
We supply all the networking equipment and cabling needed, and physically install and run it throughout the entire organization.
We monitor and maintain every system we install remotely, so it keeps working properly long after our team has left the building.
Who we connect
Anywhere connectivity can turn into learning, care, or opportunity — that's where we go.
Ready when you are
Whether it's your own organization or one you know, tell us about it — we review every application for our next connection.
